Undercover Tonneau Cover -- Not What It
Seems?
The Undercover Tonneau Cover
may look like a fiberglass lid,
but that's just looks. Many tilting hard covers are in fact made of
fiberglass, like the one from Gaylord for example, but this one
contains no fiberglass at all. Here's why that
matters.
Tilt forward pickup
bed covers
turn a pickup bed
into a giant
locking trunk. Very convenient and very useful, a tilting bed lid
offers great security too. Then many people also like the sleek look of
the hard cover,
especially since it is easy to get the cover in a color to match or
blend with your truck finish.
Here's what Undercover has though. The cover,
rather than
fiberglass, is made of more modern plastics and polymers. That does
several things, all of them good.
It brings the weight down for one. A full size
Undercover bed cover weighs only 58 pounds so it's easy to handle, easy
to
install and easy to remove. What's more, there's less strain on support
cylinders as well.
There's more too...
Polymers and plastics stand impacts better than
just about anything.
That makes for great strength too and little tendency to crack either.
So you get increased strength as well as less weight.
Finally,
the cover comes with wall mount brackets to put the truck bed cover on
your
garage wall for storage. That is attractive since the covers are light
and easy to install and remove.
On the down side. The Undercover tonneau
cover comes standard
in a textured black finish and not in painted to match your truck
finishes. It can be painted, but you still have texture.
